To me Halloween means the beginning of all the holiday seasons. Specifically the Halloween holiday to me means the day everyone can dress up for one day/night and be whoever they want and just have fun. Growing up my family would say Halloween was like celebrating the dead so that's why in Mexican traditions we celebrates Halloween and day of the dead, to remember those who have passed and just celebrate their life.

difficulty in assignments what do you struggle in what others can do and not do  exercising your difficulties  helps exercise and expand  reread  go back  get a clearer understanding  writing form or an informal essay  "The goal is to use difficulty as a focus for writing"(2).  Maybe to enhance the way you write you need to challenge yourself, and think outside of the tiny box. "Focusing in on our difficulties thus becomes a way for all readers to work with text in a new way"(2). while learning to write in new harder ways to challenge yourself its good to make it a little out of reach.  Questions:  Why is it good to challenge yourself? what are good ways to challenge yourself?

I think the article I liked the most was by Gloria Anzaldua, I feel like I related to this one more because of how she was Mexican and also wanted to express that with her language. The author used a lot of Spanglish words and it was a good way to relate to the Mexican American readers because they usually grow up with English and Spanish in their households, just like me so I think it was very interesting and it made the article more interesting and engaging to read since it was different than plain English. For reading strategies I jotted down ideas and summarized the meanings after every paragraph. These texts were not that difficult to read and I did enjoy these articles.

Essay #2 refelcetion

Essay 2 was a lot different from essay 1. I feel as if I had an easier time writing about essay two than I did figuring out what to express for my fist essay. What I found challenging was finding a visual I could relate to. Writing this essay also gave me sense of learning to look deeper into an image. All in all I enjoyed writing this essay and I feel as if maybe writing is starting to grow on me. I could say I struggled a little deciding what I was going to write about. I wasn't sure if I was going to capture the right meaning of this visual of if I interpreted the meaning of it correctly so I was a little intimidated to go off on a mural that was painted on our school campus. But as I looked at it and study the visual I saw some meaning towards it. Also after looking up the real meaning behind it I could easily say the message portrayed and the message I received was mutual. The assignment helped me look at images in a different way now because I focus more on the meaning. whe...

Over the weekend I wasn't able to go sight seeing, but I did find a visual that was very interesting and significant to me. The visual I choose was the native American mural on the Cesar Chavez building. This mural caught my eye because I am a small portion of native American so to see that our culture is view as an importance to the point where we are recognized as "still here". It makes me feel grateful and unified with the community, because my culture is recognized and it gives our campus another hint of cultural diversity.
